Best Holiday Lights in the East Bay Area

Bring your family and friends, we got the scoop for all the best holiday light displays in the East SF Bay Area to see this holiday season!

Widmer World - Pleasanton

Widmer World is one of the best light shows in Pleasanton. Ran by Bob and Susan Widmer, this beautiful holiday display features faux snow, Christmas music, large light displays, Christmas inflatables, and more! You can find the Widmer World Christmas light display at 3671 Chelsea Court. Visiting begins December 1st and is open every day from 6 PM to 9 PM until New Year's Eve. Public access is free, however donations are welcome.

Deacon' Daves - Livermore

Deacon’ Daves is aglow with more than 600,000 lights and has created many themes for their Christmas light display throughout the years. We can’t wait to see what theme they choose this year! You can find Deacon’ Daves light display at 352 Hillcrest Ave, Livermore. It will be open starting December 2nd and is usually open nightly, 6-9 p.m., with Monday and Tuesday nights being the least crowded!

Filoli Gardens - Woodside

Filoli Gardens hosts Holidays at Filoli, where visitors are able to bask in the vibrant landscape, and spend time together. Tickets are available for daytime and evening admissions, and prices vary based on time and date of visit. Filoli Gardens hosts other holiday events such as Santa Days, live tablescaping, holiday wreaths, and a private holiday firepit experience. The holiday festivities begin November 19th, 2022, and end January 8th, 2023.

Holidays at The Tilden Park Merry Go Round - Berkeley

Starting December 2nd, you can enter the winter wonderland at Tilden Park’s Merry Go Round. Come out for Christmas lights, collections of ornaments, Santa Claus & Elves, surprise characters, photo stations, classic movies, and hot cocoa! This attraction is open on weekdays 4pm–8pm, and weekends 12pm–8pm. 

Glowfari at the Oakland Zoo - Oakland

This wildly illuminating lantern festival is open December 1-23 and December 26-31 from 5pm–9pm. The experience this year has brand-new exhibits, such as a stroll through Australia with kangaroos and koalas, iconic California coastline creatures like whales, otters, and jellies, exotic creatures of the tropical rainforest, and a trip back in time with a massive T-rex and a megalodon shark tunnel! You can finish your adventure with a train ride through a fantastical realm populated by fairies, unicorns, and other mythological critters! 

Christmas Tree Lane - Alameda 

Christmas Tree Lane is on the 3200 block of Thompson Ave, between High & Fernside. Since 1938, neighbors have shared holiday decorations with everyone. It is open every evening in December from approximately 5pm to 10pm. Walk up and down the Lane to take in the holiday displays and lights. It's also driveable for those who prefer not to walk, but traffic can be slow. 

Temple Hill - Oakland 

The Oakland Temple transforms into a wonderland of more than 100,000 lights on the Friday evening after Thanksgiving every November to celebrate Christmas. Christmas lights cascade from a beautiful pool to a luminous manger scene against a backdrop of fountains, bushes, and rich flowers. The temple is located at 4770 Lincoln Ave., Oakland California. Although the Christmas lights don’t come on until dusk, the grounds are open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Picardy Drive - Oakland

Visit picture-perfect homes decorated for the holidays in the Mills College area on Picardy Drive between Seminary and 55th Ave. The entire neighborhood participates in the Christmas decorating!

Candy Cane Lane - Pleasanton

For over 60 years this neighborhood has delighted locals with the Christmas Spirit of decorations and lights. Opening night is December 3rd, the night of the downtown holiday parade!
